Loudermilk Named to Second Team All-South Region

Starkville, Miss. ? Freshman pitcher Brooke Loudermilk was named to the Second Team All-South Region Team, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Tuesday.

The right-hander from Locust Grove, Ga., threw 289 strikeouts on the season finishing 25th nationally for strikeouts per seven inning game (8.8). She accumulated eight shutouts and one combined shutout, and she had an opponent's batting average of .199 with a 2.30 ERA.

Loudermilk already received top honors from the Southern Conference last week including First Team All-Southern Conference, Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year. She was named Pitcher of the Week three times during the 2007 season and Pitcher of the Month for April.

Loudermilk joined players from the nation's top teams in No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Alabama and No. 23 Louisiana-Lafayette.
