CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---Chattanooga Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Rodney English has resigned, effective April 15, announced Wednesday by Head Coach John Shulman.  English just completed his second season with the Mocs.

“It was a great experience,” said English.  “I really enjoyed working with John Shulman again, however with the demands of recruiting and travel, it was taking away too much time from my wife and daughters.  Basically, I am looking for new challenges that strike a better balance between home and work.”

English played collegiately at East Tennessee State (1991-92) while Shulman was on Allan LeForce’s staff there.  He came to Chattanooga after three years as an assistant women’s coach for the Buccaneers.

“Rodney was a valuable member of our staff,” said Shulman.  “At this time, he has decided to concentrate on his family and I know he will be a huge success in whatever he chooses.  He did a great job for us and we appreciate his two years with our program and we wish him all the luck in the world as he moves forward.”

There is no announcement planned on a replacement at this time.  The position has been posted through UTC Human Resources and closes on April 1.
