Tennis Teams Host Wofford Tuesday in Home Finales

| By:

The tennis teams host Southern Conference foe Wofford Tuesday in both squad's home finale.

The matches are scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Champion's Club in Hixson.  Potential rain showers could move the matches indoors.  The Lady Mocs would play at the Hixson Racquet Club, and the men would move to the Manker-Patten Tennis Center near the UTC campus.  Times for both matches could be moved earlier pending on the weather.

Women's Head Coach Jeff Clark will honor seniors Bonnie Adams and Lindsey Ballard prior to the match, while Men's Head Coach Carlos Garcia will say farewell to seniors Razvan Axente and Badr Bouabdellah.

The Wofford women carry an 11-3 overall record and a 3-1 SoCon mark into Tuesday's match.  The Lady Spartans won seven straight at one point.  The Wofford's men's team is 9-8 and 3-2 within the league.  The Spartans have won four of their last five matches.

Mary Ellen Henry, a Signal Mountain, Tenn., native, plays No. 1 singles for the Lady Terriers.  Two of Henry's older sisters played tennis for Chattanooga.

The Lady Mocs, 7-9 and 1-4 in the SoCon, had a two-match win string snapped Sunday with a 6-1 loss at UNC Greensboro.  The Mocs will try to put an end to a six-match losing skid and are 10-7 and 1-5.

Also likely to be in the singles or doubles lineups for the Lady Mocs are junior Beata Knizat, sophomore Kate Ksiezopolski and freshmen Annie Green, Grace Robinette and Ariana Sanjines.

Garcia's lineup will likely include juniors Peter Sauska and Pavel Vostrikov and freshmen Robert Diamond and Hasan Hamadeh
