The Lady Mocs earned a 5-2 victory over Appalachian State in a home match on March 8.
Contributing singles wins for the Lady Mocs were seniors Lindsey Ballard and Bonnie Adams at the first and third singles positions respectively, and freshmen Grace Robinette and Arianna Sanjines at No. 4 and 6 singles respectively.
The lineup under Head Coach Jeff Clark has switched slightly as Robinette has moved into the No. 2 singles slot. Junior Beata Knizat plays the No. 4 position. Annie Green, a freshman, holds down the fifth position.
Sophomore Kate Ksiezopolski figures into the mix in the early doubles competition.
Appalachian State has lost two straight and three of the last four. The Mountaineers knocked the Lady Mocs out of the tournament in the opening round last year in a 4-3 decision.
The winner of the match will face Furman, the No. 1 seed, Friday at 10 a.m. The Paladins are the defending league champions.
