The athletics department will host
a Community Town Hall Meeting Thursday, July 24, at 6:30 p.m. The event, free
and open to the public, will be held in the Hall of Fame Room on the fourth
floor of The McKenzie Arena.
Athletics Director Rick Hart
will provide an overview of the department's Strategic Plan, and update
attendees on current and future projects in support of the plan. The department's recent merger of the former
Blue & Gold Club and the Chattanooga Mocs Club (now the UTC Mocs Club) will
also be reviewed, along with the new organization's impact on season ticket
holders and donors.
“A goal of
ours throughout the strategic planning process has been to seek input from a
variety of constituent groups,” Hart said. “As we strive to get better, the opportunity
to openly discuss our plan with the community at-large will provide us with
valuable feedback, which can then be incorporated into our strategy. As we like to say, ?no one of us is as smart
as all of us.'”
Meeting attendees will also be treated to a video presentation entitled
“We Are Chattanooga Athletics.” The video
will be distributed to current and potential donors, including many former Chattanooga
student-athletes whom the University had lost touch with over time. Atomic Films, a local media company, produced
the video for the athletics department earlier this summer.
“One of our
strategic objectives is partnerships and community outreach,” said Scott
Koskoski, Assistant Athletics Director for Development. “This community
meeting will allow friends of UTC and our athletics department to learn more
about the great accomplishments and happenings within our program, as well as
our plans for the future.”
The meeting will end with an open question-and-answer session with Hart
and other athletics administrators. Complimentary
refreshments will be provided.
