>Jonathan Hodge received a sponsor's exemption to compete in this year's Chattanooga Classic Nationwide Tour event competed at Black Creek Club Oct. 13-19 (see Chattanooga Times Free Press story here).  He starts competition today in the Porter Cup at Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston, N.Y., July 23-26.

>Ben Rickett plays in the English Amateur July 28-Aug 2 at The National Golf Centre in Woodhall Spa, England.  Two rounds of stroke play qualifies for match play to earn the title.  Rickett finished in the round of 16 a year ago.

>Fredrik Qvicker is coming off a great performance in the Swedish National Team Championship which is a competition between golf clubs in the country.  Qvicker, playing for Osteraker Golf Club, helped lead his club to a fifth-place finish (out of 18 teams) in the top division of play at Finspang Golf Course.  The event included European Tour and Challenge Tour players with foursome, best ball and individual play.  Qvicker shot a five-under par 67 to finish third individually.  His next event is qualifying July 28 for the Scandinavian Masters, played Aug 14-17, at Arlandastad Golf Club.  Qvicker finished tied for 55th, low amateur, for the event, which draws a strong international field, shooting 65-75-73-74=287 (+7).
