| By:
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team welcomes Gardner-Webb to the Southern Conference on Friday, Nov. 11.  Match time against the Runnin' Bulldogs is set for 6:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) in Maclellan Gym.

GWU joined the SoCon as a wrestling affiliate in the offseason and sports a 1-0 record after a win over Belmont Abbey (28-12) last week.  Gardner-Webb also competed in both the Hokie Open and The Citadel Open with the Mocs last weekend, but there were no head-to-head matches between the two teams in either of those events.

The Mocs are currently 0-1 on the year after dropping their season-opener to Old Dominion (31-9) last Friday.  Freshman Nick Soto (Spring Hill, Fla.) currently leads the team with five wins after placing third at the Hokie Open at 133.  Fellow freshman Kevin Malone placed fifth at the Hokie Open in the heavyweight class and is 4-3 on the year.

UTC is 7-0 all-time against the Runnin' Bulldogs, including wins in each of the last three seasons.  The Mocs scored a 29-9 road win last year and a 47-0 home shutout on Nov. 14, 2009.  UTC also had a 42-3 win in Lebanon, Tenn., on Dec. 17, 2008, in the recent history of the series.  Despite the familiarity between the two teams, there are no rematches scheduled on the probable lineups.

Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $2 for youth and UTC faculty/staff.  All UTC students are admitted FREE with a valid ID.  Season tickets are also on sale on GoMocs.com or by calling the UTC Ticket Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627).

125
The Mocs are looking at senior Demetrius Johnson (Memphis, Tenn.) or freshman Cole Hayes (Knoxville, Tenn.).  Johnson won the SoCon titles at 125 in 2009 and 133 last season, but is yet to hit the mat this season.  Hayes had a tough loss in the ODU dual last week and is 1-3 on the year.

Senior Michael Slaughter is penciled in for the Runnin' Bulldogs and is 1-0 this season.

133
Nick Soto (Spring Hill, Fla.) has solidified his spot at 133 after a third place showing at the Hokie Open last weekend.  He is leading the team with a 5-2 overall record.

Bulldog sophomore Robbie Golde is 0-3 on the year and looking for his first win.

141
Shawn Greevy (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) appears to be the heir-apparent to the 141 slot following the graduation of former All-American Cody Cleveland.  He is 3-3 after advancing to the quarterfinals at the Hokie Open.

Fellow sophomore Trevor Herron (Cleveland, Tenn.) is still fighting for action for the Mocs and could be in the lineup despite and 0-2 record.  He lost at 141 to GWU's Richie Spicel (10-5) in last year's match.

Freshman Davante Andujar is looking improve on his performance at The Citadel Open for GWU.  He went 4-2 at the event and is 4-3 overall.

149
Senior Kelly Felix (Franklin, Tenn.) will take the mat for the Mocs at 149.  He advanced to the quarterfinals of the Hokie Open and is 2-3.

Junior Ryan Medved scored an 8-2 win over Dean Pavlou last season, but will likely face Felix on Friday.  Medved has a 3-2 overall record after advancing to the quarterfinals at the Hokie Open.  Sophomore Alex Hamm is also listed as a possibility at 149 for GWU.

157
Senior Dan Waddell (Chattanooga, Tenn.) is the SoCon preseason pick at 157.  He is 3-3 after the first two days of action.  He won the SoCon title and advanced to the NCAAs at 149 as a freshman in 2009.

GWU junior Alex Medved is 1-0 on the year after a season-opening win against Belmont Abbey.  Medved lost to Josh Condon (6-1) at 157 in last year's match.

165
After winning the SoCon Title at 174 last season, senior Brandon Wright (Germantown, Tenn.) moves back to 165.  He has a 3-2 overall mark, including a win in the dual match against ODU.

Junior Justin Guthrie boasts a team-high 6-3 mark for Gardner-Webb.  He went 5-3 and finished in sixth place at the Hokie Open.

174
Junior Josh Condon (Powder Springs, Ga.) and sophomore Levi Clemons (Kissimmee, Fla.)  are the probables at 174.  Clemons got the nod in the dual against ODU and both competed at the Hokie Open.  Condon is 2-2 overall while Clemons is 1-3.

Sophomore Aaron Rabin will take the mat for GWU with his 1-2 overall mark.

184
Junior Robert Prigmore (Westlake, Texas) drops to 184 after competing at 197 and heavyweight last season.  He lost to ODU's Billy Curling (1-4) in the season-opening dual match, but came back to defeat Curling (3-2) in the opening round of the Hokie Open.

Gardner-Webb will have two options at 184.  Either sophomore Erin O'Dell or freshman Julian Ming will be in the lineup.  O'Dell lost to Dan Waddell (5-4) at 165 in last year's dual.

197
Junior Niko Brown (Kissimmee, Fla.) is off to a strong start.  He scored a pin in the dual with ODU and advanced to the quarterfinals at the Hokie Open.  GWU has this weight open, so he may be in the lineup for a walkover.

285
Freshman Kevin Malone (Carrollton, Ohio) has a 4-3 overall record after a fifth-place showing at the Hokie Open.  He avenged a 4-3 loss to Matt Tourdot in the ODU dual with a 4-2 win in the tournament.

Gardner-Webb will go with either freshman Justin Kozera or junior Travis Porter.  Kozera is 4-2 after advancing to the semis at The Citadel Open while Porter is looking for his first action of the season.
