Softball Begins Renovations to Indoor Facility

| By:

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball program broke ground on Nov. 11 with an addition to the UTC Indoor Hitting Facility that includes a new shower facility. The project has been in the planning process for a couple of years now and is slated to be finished by the time the springs semester begins on Jan. 9.

"We are always looking for ways to make the athletic experience better for our student athletes," said head coach Frank Reed. "Being an outside sport, the student-athletes come to practice and work hard. It is going to be nice for them to come back and shower before they go to class or home to study. This addition to our indoor training center is really going to top everything off and make is a first-class facility."

The addition to the facility will include four showers and the current restroom area adjacent to the locker room will be completely redone. During the process, some of the lockers will be relocated and an upgrade to the ceiling tiles and flooring will be conducted.

Chattanooga continues to work out weekly in preparation for the spring season that is scheduled to begin in mid-February.
