Jaeger, Loza Earn Dayle May Award on Academic Night

| By:
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Department recognized nearly 150 student-athletes for their success in the classroom at halftime of the men's basketball game vs. Davidson tonight.  Also honored were the recipients of the Dayle May Award, men's golfer Stephan Jaeger and women's golfer Maria Juliana Loza

Dayle May Jewelers sponsors the annual honor that recognizes the male and female student-athlete at UTC with the highest cumulative grade-point-average.  Jaeger is the two-time defending Southern Conference Player of the Year and was the league's Freshman of the Year in 2009.  He currently holds the Mocs' career scoring lead at 72.26 and is one of the top-10 collegiate golfers in the nation.  He is a Cleveland-Srixon All-American Scholar and has a 3.49 g.p.a. as a Psychology major.

Loza is a two-time All-SoCon player and a part of two-straight Southern Conference Championship teams.  She is a two-time NGCA All-American Scholar and if it was't for one B on her transcript, she would have a perfect 4.0 g.p.a. in her academic career.  As it stands, she has a 3.97 as a Mechanical Engineering major.

The Mocs would like to thank Mrs. Jerry Tessman, her family, and Dayle May Jewelers for recognizing these outstanding student-athletes in their quest for comprehensive excellence; Academically, Athletically and Socially.
