CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball team is holding an interactive event on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. open to fans of the Lady Mocs at the UTC Hitting Facility. The "Meet the Lady Mocs" event provides fans and supporters the opportunity to meet the 2012 team before it begins its season on Feb. 10 in Clermont, Fla.

Coaches and student-athletes will be signing autographs and handing out schedule cards and posters to supporters in attendance. Five-time Southern Conference Coach of the Year Frank Reed will preview his squad and introduce the student-athletes during the event.

This year's squad will be looking for its sixth-consecutive Southern Conference Regular Season title as the reigning SoCon Player of the Year Michelle Fuzzard (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and SoCon Tournament Most Outstanding Player Sara Poteat (Thomaston, Ga.) return for the Lady Mocs.

Chattanooga begins the campaign on Feb. 10 at Dot Richardson's National Collegiate Invitational in Clermont, Fla., against Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M at 11 a.m. North Florida, North Carolina and UCF are the other opponents for the Lady Mocs during the event.

The Lady Mocs open their home schedule with the 12-team Frost Classic Inspired by Memorial on Feb. 24 battling Valparaiso and Niagara beginning at 1:15 p.m. Chattanooga also plays East Tennessee State, Purdue and Dayton over the next two days. Ball State, Belmont, Cleveland State, Troy, Tennessee Tech and UT Martin are also schedule to participate in the tournament at Frost Stadium and Warner Park.
