HEAD COACH
COLETTE MURRAY (Jacksonville State '04) is in her fifth year as a head coach, all at Chattanooga.  She began a program from scratch that had been discontinued in the 1980's.  The Mocs have 11 team titles with eight medalists under her watch. She has won the last two SoCon Coach of the Year awards.

LAST TIME OUT
Chattanooga posted its most consistent 54 holes of the season tying for 5th at the Knights & Pirates Intercollegiate at Suntree C.C. The 298, 298 and 299 are the third through fifth best rounds of the season. Marion Duvernay (Publier, France) notched her second top 10 of the season tying her career-low round of 221 in tying for ninth.

UP NEXT
The Mocs look to advance to their fourth straight NCAA Regional as a team, fifth overall in five years as a program. Regionals are played in three locations May 10-12 (East: State College, Pa., Central: Columbus, Ohio, West: Erie, Colo.). The NCAA announcement of the field is Monday, April 30, at 9 p.m.

• UTC is the two-time defending champion for the SoCon title.
• This is the fourth year the league crown will be decided at Moss Creek. The Mocs have two wins and a second with a 304.44 scoring average. Furman's 309.0 is second over the three years with College of Charleston third at 311.22.

• Maria Juliana Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) battled injury and illness in the fall struggling to an 80.33 stroke average. In three spring events, her average is 76.08 strokes per round, second only to Britt's 75.33 through 216 holes. Loza is coming off her best finish of the season tying for 15th at the Knights & Pirates Invite.
• Loza's record at Moss Creek has been strong. She has two top fives tying for 5th a year ago and claiming fourth in 2010. Her scoring average is 77.22 over nine rounds with a level-par 72 in the final round last year as her best 18.
• Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) has fond memories of Moss Creek. She finished second to former teammate Emma de Groot (2008-11) shooting 77, 75 and 70 for a total of 222. Her 70 in last year's final round is the team's best 18 at the course.
• Duvernay tied her career-best 54-hole total with her 221 last week at the Knights & Pirates Invite. She shot 76, 70 and 75 to finish tied for ninth. It was her second top 10 of 2011-12 and the 70 tied for her career-best 18.
• Sophomore Sophie Weilguni (Langenlois, Austria) is seeing her first team action of 2012 after joining the team in January. She played as an individual on Kiawah Island finishing tied for 59th at 233 (+17), the team's third-best result. She was third on the team finishing tied for 60th at UF but led the squad with six birdies.
• Duvernay's tie for fifth at the season opener, Golfweek Conference Challenge, was the best finish by a Moc in the fall. She shot five-over par 221 with rounds of 72, 77 and 72. She had a team-best three par or better rounds in four events.
• Britt shot a career-best 220 (+4) at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational. She fired rounds of 70, 74 and 76. The 70 tied her season-low as she tied for 10th, her second career top 10. The previous was her runner-up finish at the 2011 Southern Conference Championship.
• Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark) closed strong at Eagle Landing tallying her first par or better round as a collegian. The one-under par 71 over the final 18 holes bettered her prior low round of 73 done multiple times. The highlight of the round came from a fairway bunker on the par four ninth hole. From 145 yards out and the wind in her face, Kryger holed out with a five iron for her second eagle of the season.
• Britt and Duvernay had the low round of the fall semester for the Mocs. Each carded two-under par 70s on UNC's Finley Golf Course.
• Loza missed her first collegiate even since joining the program in the fall of 2008 at the Tar Heel Invitational due to an elbow injury.
• Britt had a season-best nine birdies at the Tar Heel Invite.
• Duvernay posted a career-high five birdies on her card in her two-under par round at the Tar Heel Invite.
• Kryger shot her lowest rounds of the fall with 73s (+1) in the first two 18s at the Tar Heel Invite. She set season bests for birdies in a round (4) and tourney (7), pars in a round (13) and had zero scores higher than bogey for her first time with the Mocs.
• Kryger played in one of the top international amateur events in November. She was selected to represent Denmark at the Spirit International at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas. The 72-hole competition featured 80 female and male golfers from 20 invited countries each year. Each nation selects two women and two men to represent it at the event. Kryger helped lead the Danish squad to an eighth-place finish at 12-under par in combined totals, and a tie for seventh on the women's side at four under with Sara Monberg (Tennessee) Kryger tied for seventh in birdies scored with nine.
• Former UTC standout Emma de Groot (Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia) posted two new milestones in her career. One, she graduated in December with a degree in sports management. In November she earned LPGA Futures Tour status after falling short in earning her LPGA Tour card at Q School.
• The Mocs return four letterwinners, three starters from last year's SoCon Championship squad which tied the school record with four wins. All-SoCon and All-NCAA Central Regional Maju Loza is back for her final season joined by SoCon All-Freshman performers Britt and Duvernay.
• Kryger entered UTC with impressive credentials. She had two top 10s in 2011 after finishing as runner-up in the 2010 Royal Tour Championship with four top 10s overall. She has represented Denmark in several team competitions.
• Britt had good results over the summer. She finished in the semifinals of the Tennessee Amateur, quarterfinals of the Southern Women's Amateur and was 10th in the Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open.
• Duvernay won the 2011 Yves Caillol Cup over the summer shooting 219 (+3) and finished second in the Championnat de Leman.
• Chattanooga's women's golf team ranked as one of the smartest in the nation last year, No. 13 among NCAA DI universities with a 3.649 cumulative grade point average. It includes four returning NGCA Scholar All-Americans in Loza, Britt, Yushira Budhram and Duvernay.
• The five Mocs come from five different countries: Britt (American), Duvernay (French), Weilguni (Austrian), Kryger (Danish) and Loza (Colombian).
• For the first time in her coaching career, Murray is without program cornerstones Emma de Groot and Christine Wolf who completed eligibility in 2011. de Groot is currently preparing for the final stage of LPGA Q School in November, while Wolf is a graduate assistant at UTC working on her MBA.
