Head coaches from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Department were seen around town today helping with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Great Chattanooga (RMHC) "Join Us For 1-Day of Giving" campaign.
Along with members of the UTC Spirit Squad, women's basketball coach Wes Moore, softball coach Frank Reed, men's basketball coach John Shulman and football coach Russ Huesman were at three different local McDonald's restaurants collecting change and donations from patrons to support the local Ronald McDonald House.
This is the second year the Mocs have been involved in the "Day of Giving" campaign. Last year's efforts raised more than $10,000 locally. These funds help support programs at Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House that improves the health and well-being of children.
Coaches Shulman and Huesman were at the McDonald's location on 153 in Hixson while Moore and Reed were at the 3rd Street restaurant. Members of the Spirit Squad collected change at the Amnicola McDonald's.
Beyond sharing spare change, there are other ways to get involved and support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga. For more information is also available on the website at www.rmhchattanooga.com.
