The Mocs will have four seniors competing in the event, including Manuel Barroetavena (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Ankit Chopra (Chandigrah, India), Jackson Tresnan (Apopka, Fla.) and Roberto Vieira (Bedfordview, South Africa).
Action begins with doubles play on Friday morning. Barroetavena and Tresnan get things started with a 9:30 a.m. (E.D.T.) match against Eastern Kentucky's Florian Graskamp and Joao Maio. Vieira and Chopra will team up for a 10:30 a.m. match against Austin Peay's Sean Bailey and Aleksas Tverijonas.
Barroetavena leads off in singles play on Friday afternoon, facing Graskamp at 3:00 p.m. Tresan takes on Xavier's Adam Krull at 3:30 p.m. while Chopra has a first round match at 4:30 p.m. against EKU's Jan Dombrowski.
Vieira is seeded 17th in the singles main draw and has a first round BYE. He won't play his first singles match until Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. His second round matchup will be against either Murry State's Joao Camara or MTSU's Ettore Zito. Vieira defeated Camara (6-1, 6-1) in last year's dual match with the Racers.
The Ohio Valley Regional is a strong one in collegiate tennis, consisting of nine teams that qualified for the 64-team field at the NCAA team tournament last season. Teams participating this weekend who also were in the NCAA's last year include East Tennessee, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Other teams participating in this weekend's regional hail from Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Butler, Dayton, IUPUI, Lipscomb, Murray State, Tennessee Tech, Wright State and Xavier.
