Moore Adds Six to 2013-14 Lady Mocs' Roster

Lady Mocs head coach Wes Moore added six new faces to the 2013-14 women's basketball roster.

Moses Johnson • 6-0 • Guard • Greenforest-McCalep Christian Academy (Ga.)

Johnson has led Greenforest for the last three seasons and averaged 28 points and six assists per game. She recorded her 1,000th point in January last year and had a 45-point scoring game. She finished as the second-highest scorer in Georgia last season and earned Class A All-State Honorable Mention from the Georgia Sport Writers Association and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Johnson does double duty singing the National Anthem prior to her basketball games.

Ansley Chilton • 6-2 • Center • Dade County (Ga.) High School

Chilton will join the Lady Mocs next season but is expected to redshirt her rookie year. In 2012 she was named to the 7-AA All-Region team for the Lady Wolverines and averaged 11.8 points per game and eight rebounds as a junior.

Whitney Hartlage • 5-8 • Guard • Mercy Academy (Ky.)

Hartlage, a member of the 2010 Kentucky State Championship team, helped the team to a 27-6 overall record in her junior year. That included the District 24 title and runner-up finish in the 6th Region Tournament. In a region tournament game last season, she recorded 33 points including nine 3-pointers.

Aryanna Gilbert • 5-10 • F • Columbia Central High School (Tenn.)

Gilbert is playing her first season with Columbia Central after transferring from Lawrence County. Last season she led her team to the Class AAA state tournament with a 27-7 record. She averaged more than 15 points per game as a junior and was a member of the track and field team running the 100m and 200m events. In her season opener Tuesday night, Gilbert scored 14 points and pulled down four rebounds for Columbia Central en route to a win over Smyrna in the Hall of Champions game.

Jasmine Joyner • 6-1 • Forward • Southaven High School (Miss.)

Joyner, a four-year starter at Southaven, is a defensive specialist. She averaged 10 points per game as a junior and pulled down 7.4 rebounds while blocking 6.3 shots per game. She was named to the Clarion-Ledger Mississippi Girls "Dandy Dozen" basketball team.

Chelsey Shumpert • 5-3 • Guard • Tilghman High School (Ky.)

Shumpert has been a member of the varsity squad since she was in seventh grade, making her the most experienced member of the team. As a junior she helped lead her team to a 29-6 overall record with 458 points. She averaged 25.4 points per game, 4.2 assists and 3.7 steals.
