CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team is back in action Monday at the Old Waverly Collegiate. The two-day, 54-hole event is played at the Old Waverly Golf Club Monday and Tuesday with a strong field intact. Chattanooga is one of 10 teams ranked in the top 100 collegiate in the 15-team field.

The Mocs look to find a spark prior to the start of championship season. This weekend's five-some includes: Liam Johnston, Ewan Scott, Wes Gosselin, Andrew Weathers and Kory Webb.

2014 Results: Davis Bunn tied for ninth at -1 (215) to lead the Mocs to a tie for 5th at the Old Waverly Collegiate. The squad followed an opening round 295 by shooting 283 and 289. Mississippi State won at 5 under, one ahead of Cincinnati. Marco Iten (Austin Peay) and Barrett Edens (Miss. St.) tied for first at -9.

A Look Back & a Look Ahead
Last Time Out: Chattanooga finished ninth at the Furman Intercollegiate shooting 891 (+27). Wes Gosselin led the squad at 3 over 219. Andrew Weathers was one behind tied for 25th at 4 over.

Next Up: The Mocs travel to Pinehurst, N.C., April 19-21, for the Southern Conference Championship. The event returns to National Golf Club.

- Johnston leads in scoring (73.40) and par 5 scoring (4.74) as well as fewest others (0.48) and par or better rounds (11). He holds a nine-shot lead for the season over Gosselin.

- Gosselin leads in birdies (3.28) and par 3 scoring (3.09). His spring scoring average is 73.45, 73.76 for the year.

- Gosselin's final round average over last four 54-hole events is 69.0 (-12).

- Scott is tops in pars (11.52), par or better holes (77.6%), fewest bogeys (3.52) and par 4 scoring (4.17).

- Chattanooga is 32 under on par 5's per the counting cards over the last 108 holes. Johnston and Gosselin lead at 9 under over that span followed by Scott (-5), Brooks Thomas (-3), Weathers (-2) and Webb (-1).

- Johnston has played 104 consecutive holes without a score higher than bogey. He's had just one in 129 holes.

- Four different Mocs have led the team in events this season: Johnston (Carpet Capital/AutoTrader/Davidson/Linger Longer), Gosselin (Tar Heel/Linger Longer/Furman), Scott (Wolf Run/Tiger) and Andrew Weathers (Bridgestone/Davidson).

- All seven student-athletes have turned in at least one par or better card. Four different Mocs claim rounds in the 60's with a team-high four for Gosselin.
