Bono Wins the 2009 Dave Schultz Memorial International Open

Chattanooga wrestling head coach Chris Bono won the 145.5-pound class at the 2009 Dave Schultz Memorial Open in Colorado Springs, Colo., this weekend.  Bono earned a 4-1 decision over Brian Stith to take the individual title in the freestyle tournament. 

 

Bono was one of only two U.S. wrestlers to earn a win among the seven weight classes in the event.

The Mocs are preparing for one of their toughest road trips of the year this weekend.  They travel to No. 2 Iowa State on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7:00 p.m. and No. 22 Northern Iowa on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2:00 p.m.  Chattanooga's final home match of the season is Monday, Feb. 23 at 6:00 p.m. in MacLellan Gym against VMI.
