CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs evened their season slate at 4-4 with a 42-18 blitzing at Elon (4-4/2-3) Saturday afternoon. It is the second straight win for UTC, the first in the series since 2005.

Terrell Robinson (South Pittsburg, Tenn.) was strong again in relief of an injured B.J. Coleman (Chattanooga, Tenn.). He completed 11 of 13 passes for 140 yards with three touchdowns and ran for a game-high 115 yards on 14 carries. He totaled 69 of those rushing yards in a pivotal fourth quarter performance.

The Mocs ran out to a 28-0 lead in the opening half. Robinson connected on scoring tosses with Joel Bradford (Chattanooga, Tenn.) for 52 yards, Sloan Allison (Ooltewah, Tenn.) for 11 yards and Marlon Anthony (Acworth, Ga.) for six yards, surrounding a 24-yard Gunner Miller (East Ridge, Tenn.) pick-six in the first 30 minutes.

The Bradford and Allison connections were most impressive. On both plays Robinson made last-second decisions to throw before crossing the line of scrimmage.

Elon managed a late field goal to end the first half to trail 28-3 at the break. It was a harbinger for a flurry of activity in the third quarter for the home team.

The Phoenix accumulated 160 yards in the third quarter after only managing 110 in the opening half. They closed the score to 28-12 with another Adam Shreiner field goal (32 yards) and an 11-yard Thomas Wilson to Jeremy Peterson scoring strike. The two-point attempt failed, but momentum had shifted.

Elon took over on its own one-yard line with 3:09 left in the third quarter after once again stopping the Mocs with a three-and-out. It proceeded to march 99 yards in 17 plays converting on fourth-and-nine at the Chattanooga 34. Dontay Taylor capped the drive from two yards out to get the Phoenix within 10, 28-18 after another failed two-point conversion.

Then Robinson took over for UTC. He ran 41 yards to open the ensuing possession as the Mocs scored in three plays and just 1:28. Marquis Green (Palmetto, Fla.) cashed in from 21 yards out to make it 35-18.

Kadeem Wise (Lawrenceville, Ga.) intercepted Wilson on the next possession to put the Mocs in business at the Elon 31. Robinson and the Mocs offense patiently closed out the scoring from there with a nine-play drive that culminated with a J.J. Jackson (Marietta, Ga.) touchdown run just over six minutes after Wise's pick. That put UTC up 42-18 with 3:07 left which held as the final score.

Other than the four consecutive scoring drives by the Phoenix, the Mocs defense was on the ball. Wes Dothard (Carrollton, Ga.) led the effort with a career-high 15 tackles with two-and-a-half for loss and a forced fumble. Ryan Consiglio (Franklin, Tenn.) added 11 tackles, two for loss with a sack.

The defense forced three of the four turnovers with two interceptions and a fumble recovery. The other fumble came on punt coverage as a rolling Bradford punt hit the back foot of an Elon blocker which was pounced on by long snapper Brock Oliver (Ooltewah, Tenn.). All four turnovers led to 28 points for the Mocs.

The Chattanooga D had four total sacks on the day with Consiglio, Zach Rayl (Englewood, Tenn.) and Davis Tull (Knoxville, Tenn.) all getting one, with Joshua Williams (Griffin, Ga.) and Keyon Reed (Palm Bay, Fla.) sharing the other. That's included in the team's nine tackles for loss on the day.

Elon completed 26 of 41 passes for 270 yards with two interceptions and one touchdown. Wilson was 22 of 35 for 238 yards, throwing both picks and the score. His favorite targets were Jeremy Peterson (9 rec., 79 yds, 1 TD) and Aaron Mellette (8-107).

The Phoenix were limited to 74 yards rushing with a 1.9 yard per carry average. Taylor ran for 38 yards in 12 totes, while A.J. Harris gained 38 yards in 11 attempts. Joshua Jones led the defense with 11 stops.

The Mocs return home to host Furman next Saturday at 2 p.m. Fans can watch live stream of the game on Mocs Vision, access live stats on GoMocs.com and follow @GoMocs for notes and stats on twitter. The men's and women's basketball teams will be on display for the Memorial Blue & Golf Tipoff presented by Praters in pre-game tailgating at the First Tennessee Pavilion.
