Soto, a native of Spring Hill, Fla., went 25-8 as a true freshman last season. He burst onto the national scene with a second place finish at 133 at the Southern Scuffle in January. He was ranked as high as No. 13 in 2012 and took home SoCon Freshman of the Year honors.
UTC opens the season this weekend with a trip to Virginia. The Mocs will compete in a tri-dual with No. 16 Virginia, Ohio and Anderson on Saturday, Nov. 3 in Charlottesville. The Mocs will then travel to Salem for the Hokie Open on Sunday, Nov. 4.
