NEXT UP
Chattanooga returns home to open SoCon play with Davidson on Saturday, December 1, at 7:30 p.m., in a doubleheader with the Lady Mocs (Furman - 5 p.m.).

OPENING TIPS
- It's the second road game of 2012-13 and second of just four non-conference road games (Kansas, LSU, Georgia Tech).

- Chattanooga is beating teams by nearly 10 (9.8) rebounds per game. That ranks in the top 40 in the nation (as of 11/20). The Mocs lead the SoCon in margin and offensive rebound percentage (.425) and are second in defensive rebound percentage (.750).

- UTC is top 10 in the country ranking seventh in offensive boards per game (17.6) through Wednesday, November 21.

- The Mocs have grabbed 12 or more offensive rebounds in five straight contests.  The last time they did that was in 2010-11 (Dec. 30-Jan. 15). Six? That was the 2010-11 season as well recording 12 or more eight times in a row (Louisville through Reinhardt). The one break was 11 against Montreat on Dec. 28, 2010 for a run of 13 in 14 games.

- Chattanooga has out-boarded opponents by 10 or more three times including the last two games - 17 vs. Troy and 14 vs. Louisiana Tech. The last time UTC recorded three in a row was 2008-09 against Wofford (10), Furman (11) and Samford (19). 16 2004-05

- UTC lead the series with KSU 3-1, 1-0 in the KSU Convocation Center. More series notes on page 3 of the game notes link.

- The Mocs are 91-93 vs. current Atlantic Sun membership. Seventy-four of those contests are against former SoCon rival East Tennessee State (42-32).

- This is the first UTC roster since well before the move to DI (1977-78) to not have a single junior college transfer on its roster. See expanded note on page three (New Path) of game notes link.

- Chattanooga led in the second half in two of its four losses. The Mocs led No. 11 Kansas by 12 (42-30, 18:05) and Troy by six (48-42, 10:29).

- Gee McGhee's 19 points against Louisiana Tech gives him double digits in two of his last three games. McGhee averaged 12.0 points per game shooting 43.3 percent from the field (13-30) during CBE Classic homestand.

- Ronrico White also increased his early season output during the CBE home games posting 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest.

- Drazen Zlovaric (26) and Z. Mason (24) combined for 50 boards (16.7 per game) during the three home games. For the season, the duo averages 7.6 and 6.8 rebounds per game (14.4 total), respectively.

A-SUN HISTORY
The Mocs have a long history with the Atlantic Sun or at least the conference as it is aligned at this time. This is the first of two matchups with the league this season with Mercer coming to Chattanooga on December 16.

After a two-point win over South Carolina State (67-65), the Owls have lost at Eastern Kentucky (85-71), against Radford (67-58) and Towson (69-63) in Richmond, Ky., before Wednesday's home loss to Georgia Southern (62-46).

MURRAY ARNOLD
The Chattanooga Mocs lost a legend on Nov. 14, 2012 as former Head Coach Murray Arnold passed away in Florida. He laid the DI championship foundation coaching for six years, 1980-85, with a 135-46 record. He coached collegiately at four institutions (Birmingham Southern, Western Kentucky and Stetson) amassing a 420-229 mark in 22 seasons. The Mocs captured four SoCon Championships in six UTC campaigns advancing to three NCAA Tournaments and two NITs reaching the Elite 8 (NIT) in 1985 and narrowly missing the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1982.
