Women's Football Clinic, Inspired by Memorial Health Care System, Another Success

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga head football coach Russ Huesman and his wife, Amy, hosted the fourth annual Women’s Football Clinic, Inspired by Memorial Health Care System, at Finley Stadium tonight.  The event was another success with 50 ladies taking part in a fun evening of football.

The night began with a social hour that included a wine tasting, courtesy of Athens Distributing Company.  The opening meet-and-greet gave participants a chance to get to know the Mocs football coaches, as well as some of the administrators and support staff who were also on hand.

The clinic portion included a classroom session on the basic points of college football.  Offensive coordinator Jeff Durden, defensive coordinator Adam Braithwaite and special teams coach B.J. Hogan all entertained the crowd with an informal overview of each area of the field.  Right answers we rewarded with prizes while wrong responses were met with jovial ridicule.

The second half of the clinic moved to Davenport Field at Finley Stadium, beginning with an equipment rundown in the locker room.  After a team photo, the ladies stormed the field through the familiar Mocs helmet tunnel.

Once on the turf, the fun really began, so be sure to check out the photo gallery below for shots from all of the action.  Divided among Blue and White teams, the ladies went head to head on offense and defense.  There were a number of big plays, a few “pick-sixes” and a punt, pass and kick competition.

The event concluded back in the Stadium Club with a question-and-answer session with the coaches’ wives.  After door prizes were handed out, the ladies were reminded to be ready for the home opener on Thursday, Aug. 29, against UT Martin at 7:00 p.m. (E.D.T.).
