CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---McKenzie Arena’s facelift is just about done and just in time for the Friday, August 23, deadline for purchasing season tickets for Chattanooga Mocs and Lady Mocs basketball. The initial deadline is to be a part of the first reseating project since the building opened in 1982. The reason for the reseat is the complete renovation of the lower bowl of seats.
The configuration of the building changed with some seat numbers changing and others remaining the same. In fairness, the change requires us to reseat all season ticket holders. The first deadline is coming up fast to be a part of the first wave of season ticket holders selecting their seats.
With the project almost completed, the process of reseating ticket holders can start. The UTC Ticket Office begins contacting those who purchased season tickets by the end of business on the 23rd to set up an appointment to select their seat(s) for 2013-14 based on their priority point system ranking.
Season tickets start for as little as $125 for the men and $100 for the ladies. To reserve one of the 880 padded seats at center court of either side of the arena, a minimum gift of $75 per seat is required. There is now reserved seating for Lady Mocs games in the lower bowl.
The Mocs and Lady Mocs open on the same night, Friday November 8, in a doubleheader. The men tip off at 5:30 p.m., taking on local NCAA Division III opponent Covenant, while the ladies tackle Alabama in the nightcap.
