University of Tennessee at Chattanooga junior Davis Tull earned a spot on the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American team the organization announced this week. This is the fifth All-American Award for Tull this postseason.
Tull is the first Moc to repeat on the AFCA squad and is one of only two defenders who have made the team each of the last two seasons. A defensive end from Knoxville, Tenn., Tull was second in the league in sacks, posting 9.0 in 2013 while adding 52 tackles and 15.0 TFLs. He also had a league-best four forced fumbles with one recovery and led the Mocs with eight quarterback hurries.
The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. According to the organization, what makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.
