SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- Chattanooga Mocs senior Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) is this week’s Southern Conference Golfer of the Week. Britt averaged 73.8 strokes per round with one top five finish in two events to collect her first weekly honor.
Britt started the 2014 portion of the schedule tying for fifth at the Lady Bulldog Individual in Athens Ga. She shot 77-72 for her five-over par total which was two shots behind co-medalists Alex Harrell (Auburn) and Chessey Thomas (Tennessee).
She followed that performance with a solid four-over par 220 at the Central District Invitational. Britt opened with a level-par 72 and then carded twin rounds of 74. The 220 finish is tied for her third lowest 54 holes of 2013-14.
This is not Britt’s first SoCon honor, although it is her first Golfer of the Week nod. She was the April 2012 Golfer of the Month after winning the SoCon Championship.
The Mocs return to the tee on Sunday, March 2, at the Kiawah Island Classic. The three-day, 54-hole event is comprised of 36 teams and is played at Kiawah Island Resort on Cougar Point and Oak Point Golf Courses.
