SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- These things never get old. Chattanooga Mocs senior Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) is the Southern Conference Golfer of the Week for the second time in four weeks.

Britt is coming off a tie for fourth at the 3M Jaguar Intercollegiate. It’s her fourth top five and fifth top 10 of the season.

“Jordan was certainly the highlight for us this past week,” said Head Coach Colette Murray.  But that’s Jordan. She’s been very consistent for us this year.

"Jordan is a star,” Murray added. “She has an ability to just get the job done. Her sheer determination and heart is unmatched by any one else I have coached."

Britt averaged 74.33 strokes per round shooting seven-over par 223 on the treacherous Forest Hills Golf Club tract. That was one behind No. 17 Simin Feng (Vanderbilt) in third. She beat three nationally-ranked opponent in No. 28 Jenny Hahn (1 shot) of Vanderbilt, No. 58 Aurora Kim (6) of Purdue and No. 88 Stephanie Miller (10) of Illinois.

Her scoring average was 4.57 better than the field’s average of 78.90 as she carded rounds of 76, 75 and 72. The even-par final 18 was one of just eight par or better rounds in 225 total for the event. Britt now own nine top 10 in her career, seven top fives.

The SoCon Golfer of the Week honor is the second of her career with both coming this season. She is the 20th golfer to win multiple weekly awards but just the second Moc joining Emma de Groot (2008-11) who had a league-record six. Britt was also SoCon Golfer of the Month for April 2012. All-in-all, Chattanooga women golfers have won weekly mention 12 times and monthly eight.

The Mocs return to action Monday, March 24, at the Briar’s Creek Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event is played at Briar’s Creek Golf Club in Charleston, S.C.
