CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- With the NCAA East Region meet still two weeks away, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga distance runner Teghan Henderson (Pickering, Ontario) will get in a race this weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational Friday evening at the George C. Griffin Track.
Henderson qualified for both the 5000 meter and 10,000 meter runs for the region, but will compete in just one of the two events, a decision that will be made next week.
At the Stanford Invitational on April 4, Henderson won her heat in the 5K with a school-record time of 16:13.03. Three weeks later she claimed the league title in the longer event at the Southern Conference Championships with a conference-record time of 34:35.06.
This weekend, Henderson, who has nearly a month between the conference race and the NCAA meet, will compete in the 1500 meter run to get in a race against competition.
The race is set to begin at 8:10 p.m. A link to the live stats and results can be found on the schedule page at GoMocs.com.
