(Photo Credit: GoMocs.com): fired a 66 to come back from six down to win the rain-shortened Grand Prix des Landes
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--- Agathe Sauzon captured the 64th Grand Prix des Landes at Golf D’Hossegor in Hossegor, France. The 36-hole event was played this past weekend in heavy rains which shortened it from a scheduled four rounds.
Sauzon trailed by six shots after opening with a 3-over 74. She took over from there firing a final round 66 to win by one over a trio of golfers. Incoming freshman Cristina Perez was just four shots back at 144 (+2) tying for 11th. Perez carded rounds of 71 and 73.
Sauzon has entered four total events since her return to France for the summer. She netted a top five at the Grand Prix du Golf Club de Lyon tying for fourth. She also tied for 13th at the Biarritz Cup at Biarritz Golf Club and just missed the cut in a pro event by two strokes qualifying for the LET Access Series’ Open Generali de Dinard at Dinard Golf Club in Saint Briac Sur Mer, France.
Isabella Loza just missed winning the Abierto de Golf Bucaramanga, a pro event in her hometown of Bucaramanga in Colombia. She trailed by six strokes at the mid-point of 36 holes. She closed the gap to three heading into the final 18 but could not make up the gap finishing second.
DeeDee Russell entered school in January, but her spring was cut short by injury. She got back in action this month in Australia finishing tied for seventh at the New South Wales Junior Championship at Wollongong Golf Club.
Tennessee Amateur Champion Emily McLennan tees off at the Trans Amateur Championship in Elgin, S.C., July 29-August 1. Sarah Dolmovich and recently-graduated SoCon Golfer of the Year Jordan Britt are entered in the Golf Capital of Tennessee Women’s Open in Crossville July 31-August 2.
