Rhonda Reynolds joined the UTC Athletics Department in 2004 and became an Academic Advisor in 2006. She oversees the academic advising for wrestling, men's and women's tennis as well as the men's and women's cross country and track and field teams.

Her primary responsibilities include monitoring NCAA progress towards degree and eligibility, providing academic advisement on course selection, graduation and career planning, coordinating and supervising student-athlete study halls and tutoring and co-facilitating student-athlete council and NCAA CHAMPS/Lifeskills.

During the 2011-12 season, three of Reynolds' teams posted g.p.a.'s that ranked in the top-25 in the nation among their respective sports.  The men's cross country squad was No. 1 in the country with a 3.85, women's cross country was No. 5 in th country with a 3.73 and wrestling was No. 13 with a 3.15.

A Connecticut native, Reynolds graduated from the University of Connecticut, Storrs where she was a student-athlete competing in cross country and track for the Huskies.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Textiles Science, Reynolds accepted a position with FILA designing men's and women's tennis and golf apparel.  While at FILA, she was charged with creating custom competition wear for FILA-sponsored professional athletes such as Boris Becker, Monica Seles, Gabriella Sabatini and Mark Philippoussis.  She also had the honor of contributing concepts/drawings for the prestigious US Open licensed apparel line.

Reynolds came to Chattanooga to be near her family on Signal Mountain landing a senior design position with former children's wear giant, Buster Brown.  Her 15 years in garment design and production took her all over the world - she has been to every continent except Antarctica.

It was her love of sports and fitness though that pulled her away from the apparel industry and brought her to the UTC Athletic Department.  She runs, bikes and weight trains six days a week. She has completed the Boston, New York and Marine Corps marathons and has earned titles in several East Coast fitness competitions.  Reynolds is currently working towards the completion of her MBA at UTC.
