Bradford, a native of Chattanooga, broke the Mocs' single-season school record with 1,284 receiving yards in 2010. He carries a 3.43 grade-point-average, majoring in Finance, and is a two-time Academic All-Southern Conference selection.
Bradford's receiving total led the SoCon and was No. 2 in the nation this season. He was a member of the Associated Press All-American Third Team and a First Team All-SoCon pick. His 116.7 receiving yards-per-game ranked No. 3 in the country while his 7.4 receptions-per-game were No. 7 in the NCAA. He also added a team-high eight touchdown grabs.
Football players from all Football Championship Subdivision institutions were eligible for the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team. Each of the nominees was required to have a minimum g.p.a. of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletics credentials.
"The FCS ADA looks forward to honoring the accomplishments of its football student-athletes each year with the announcement of the Academic All-Star Team," said FCS ADA President Greg Burke, chair of the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team Selection Committee and athletics director at Northwestern State University. "The dedication by these young men to perform successfully both on the field of competition and in the classroom epitomizes the definition of a Division I student-athlete."
Chattanooga is coming off a 6-5 record in 2010, including a third-place finish in the SoCon and a 5-3 league mark. UTC's five SoCon wins are the most since 1985 and the Mocs have now posted back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1990 and 1991.
Chattanooga's successes have not been limited to the playing field over the last two seasons. UTC set a school record with 10 Academic All-SoCon honorees in 2009 and followed that up with nine Academic All-SoCon performers this season.
This is the second-straight season the Mocs have had a representative on the FCS ADA Academic All-Star team. Steven Smigelsky, a senior linebacker in 2009, represented Chattanooga on last year's team.
