Savanah Stansell begins her fifth season with the Chattanooga volleyball program. Stansell serves as the team’s recruiting coordinator. She also shares in all of the program’s coaching responsibilities, primarily working with the setters and offense.

In 2014, Stansell helped the Mocs’ setters improve from 9.9 to 11.4 assists per set while coaching Anne Bachman and Lauren Greenspoon to over 500 assists each on the season.

Prior to coming to Chattanooga, Stansell spent four years at Southeast Missouri State, Bradley and Southern Indiana. She was an assistant coach at Southeast Missouri State in 2010 serving as the recruiting coordinator, while working on the court primarily with the liberos and defensive specialists in passing and defense. She additionally assisted with the offense and setters.

During her two-years at Bradley, she helped with the progression of the defensive specialists and setters. Stansell assisted in recruiting duties and was in charge of breaking down game film with Bradley players. She was also responsible for all team travel.

Prior to working with the Braves, Stansell was the graduate assistant coach at the University of Southern Indiana during the 2007 campaign.

The Temecula, Calif., native played her collegiate career at Ohio University, and led the Bobcats to four conference titles. She sits in the Top-10 at Ohio for every setter and defensive category in the season and career record books.

Aside from school marks, Stansell helped the Bobcats finish number one in the nation in kills and assists per game in 2005, along with a Sweet Sixteen appearance in the NCAA tournament. She also finished second in the nation in assists per game.

Stansell earned MAC Conference Tournament MVP in 2005 to go with AVCA Midwest Region Honorable Mention accolades. In 2006, she repeated those honors and added MAC Setter of the Year to her resume.

Stansell graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree while studying Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences and also minored in Psychology.

Savanah and her husband, Britton, were married May 2013 and reside in Chattanooga.
