Alyssa joins the Chattanooga athletic training staff as a first year graduate student. Her primary responsibilities will be with the volleyball team. She is a certified and licensed athletic trainer and holds a membership in NATA.

She comes to UTC from Union University in West Tennessee where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training as well as a minor in Spanish. In her time at Union, she worked with many of the varsity teams including men’s golf, men’s basketball, volleyball, softball and women’s basketball and as a part of her senior rotation, worked with the men’s soccer team.

As a student trainer, she volunteered with the Metric Century Bike Ride, an annual event sponsored by the Union University Athletic Training Education Program. Alyssa worked with several local high school teams and worked in the Lift Wellness Center Physical Therapy Clinic.

In her first two years at Union, she served as the team manager for the volleyball team. She became a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) and a member of the Sigma Delta Academic Society.

Alyssa is from Jackson, Tenn., and graduated from Madison Academic Magnet High School. She was a member of the girl’s soccer team and helped lead the team to the state soccer tournament in her senior year. She ranked in the Top 10 academically and was named “Miss Madison”. She was a member of the National Honors Society, the Spanish Club and received the English Award.

She is the daughter of David and Vicki Allen and has one sister, Ansley.
