Alex Wharton was added to the Chattanooga Mocs basketball staff in May 2014. He is the video coordinator. He oversees all aspects of video work for the program in regards to scouting, film exchange along with working closely with coaching on practice and game preparation.

Despite his relatively young age, Alex has already accumulated five years of coaching experience. He most recently worked in internal operations at Houston for the 2013-14 season. Prior to his season with the Cougars, Wharton was a graduate assistant at Angelo State for the 2012 and 2013 campaigns.

Wharton played two seasons at Grayson College, a Texas junior college. He then went to Houston to complete his bachelor’s degree, but he did not play for the Cougars. Instead, he started his coaching career assisting at Lone Star Community College in Houston.

Alex got his bachelor’s in sports administration in 2011 from Houston. His master’s was attained in 2013, also in sports administration. He is a native of Houston, Texas.
