The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team is holding Hometown Heroes Day when it hosts The Citadel this weekend at Finley Stadium. All police, fire, emergency service and military personnel in uniform or with a valid ID will receive a FREE general admission ticket to the game.
Combined with this week's celebration of Veterans Day and UTC's commitment to engaging the Chattanooga Community, the Hometown Heroes Day is one way the Mocs would like to show their appreciation for the fan support received during this year's football season.
"We have had a tremendous year on the football field and the fan support has been unprecedented," stated Director of Athletics Rick Hart. "The community has been behind us throughout the year and this is one small way we would like to give back to those who take care of us. I hope all of the Hometown Heroes take advantage of this opportunity and come out and help us secure a winning season."
The Mocs are currently 5-4 on the year with two games remaining. A win against The Citadel would clinch a winning record for UTC for the first time since 2005.
The Mocs will have 1,000 American Flags to give out before the game, while Memorial Hospital will be giving out 500 T-Shirts and 1,000 mini-footballs in the First Tennessee Pavilion.
Fans can still get the $5 general admission tickets when they order online at GoMocs.com and use the promo code "restore". For more information, or to order tickets over the phone, call (423) 266-MOCS (6627).
Kickoff against The Citadel is set for 2:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) with tailgating officially beginning at the First Tennessee Pavilion at 11:00 a.m. The ticket window at the First Tennessee Pavilion opens at 10:00 a.m. with all other Finley Stadium ticket booths opening at 11:00 a.m.
