Marquita Armstead is entering her 4th year as the Director of Compliance at UTC.
Armstead's responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of NCAA, Southern Conference and university rules compliance for the athletics department. Her duties include monitoring student-athlete eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, play-practice, rules interpretation, and conducting internal and external investigations to ensure that all UTC sports, staff, and coaches remain in compliance with NCAA regulations.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Armstead is a graduate of Mississippi State where she earned a Master of Science degree in Sports Administration in August 2006 and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2005. Prior to UTC, she served as an intern in the Compliance office at Ohio University during the 2006-07 academic year and she also was also an intern in the Mississippi State compliance office in the summer of 2006.
Formerly Marquita Turner, she and her husband, Demetric Armstead, were married in May 2007. They have one son, Braylon, born on January 13, 2010.
