Flynn Signs NLI to Join Lady Mocs Tennis

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis head coach Jeff Clark announced the signing of Alexa Flynn to a National Letter of Intent today.  Flynn is one of the top-rated players in the state of Tennessee according to TennisRecruiting.net.

"I am excited that Alexa will become a UTC Moc," stated Clark.  "She is the type of student-athlete we want at Chattanooga - an outstanding tennis player and student.  Our team will be stronger with her."

Flynn is a native of Memphis, Tenn., where she attends Houston High School.  She is a three-star recruit and No. 3 in the state according to TennisRecruiting.net. 

Flynn currently plays out of the prestigious junior development program at the Racquet Club of Memphis under the direction of coach Peter Lebedevs.  She advanced to the finals of the Tennessee State Junior Qualifying tournament over the summer. She also reached the Round of 32 in the main draw at the Southern Closed Championships in Little Rock, Ark., one of the top junior tournaments in the USTA Southern Region.  . 

The Mocs current women's team will be back in action on Jan. 29, 2010, when they open the spring season with a match against Lipscomb.
