Single Round Team Course Record
- Florida State set a new team 18-hole course record today. The Seminoles shot a 9-under 279 and lead the team standings with a two round total of 562 (-14, 283-279).
- Virginia threatened that mark, finishing 8-under for the second round. The Cavaliers' second round was suspended due to darknessand they finished Thursday morning. They are currently tied for 11th at +4 (300-280=580).
Single Round Individual Course Record Tied
- Sophomore Alex Ching tied the course record 66 set in the 2004 Southern Amateur by Michael Sim and Ryan Blaum. Ching is the individual leader at 9-under for the tournament (69-66=135).
- Virginia Sophomore Henry Smart also tied the course record with a 66 today. He finished his round as night fell, posting seven birdies and one bogey. He is currently +4 (82-66=148) after two rounds.
More Notes
- Three players, UNLV Sophomore Derek Ernst, Georgia Tech junior John-Tyler Griffin and Virginia junior Will Collins all had two eagles in their second round today.
- Augusta State junior Henrik Norlander shot a bogey-free 69 today. He birdied Nos. 6, 14 and 17 to go with 15 pars. He is 7-under for the tournament (68-69=137) and in the hunt for the individual title.
- Oklahoma State sophomore Peter Uihlein finished with a 4-under 68 in the second round. He is currently 7-under after two rounds (69-68=137) and is also in the hunt for the individual trophy.
