Single Round Individual Course Record Tied
- Oregon State senior Diego Velasquez became the fifth player - third of four at this year's NCAA Championships - to shoot a competition course record 6-under 66. He carded six birdies and no bogeys. He had four birdies in a row on the front side from Nos. 4-7. He finished the tournament at 7-under (71-72-66=209).
- Oregon junior Jack Dukeminier was the sixth player - fourth at this year's NCAA Championships - to shoot a competition course record 6-under 66. He carded an eagle, seven birdies and three bogeys. He finished the tournament at even par (74-76-66=216) to help the Ducks advance to the match play.
More Notes
- Stanford, Arizona State and San Diego all tied for seventh place at 4-over. They will compete for the final spot in the match play with a playoff Friday morning.
- Illinois junior Scott Langley was the leader in the clubhouse after the morning wave. He shot a 4-under 68 today and won the individual title at 10-under (70-68-68=206) for the tournament.
- Texas Tech set the bar for the morning group, posting an 8-under 280. The Red Raiders finished +3 (302-285-280=867) to advance to match play.
- No. 6 did not give up any eagles the first two rounds. However, the 565-yard, par 5 allowed two in today's final round. BYU's Robbie Filmore and San Diego's Jason Shano both made 3's on the hole today.
