The Chattanooga Mocs passed the 2,000 milestone - currently standing at 2,006 - for football season tickets sold today. UTC kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 3:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) against defending Southern Conference Champion Appalachian State at Finley Stadium.
Chattanooga is receiving votes in the AGS Preseason Top-25 and is picked to finish fourth in the highly competitive SoCon. The Mountaineers are ranked No. 3 in the nation in the preseason and are the consensus choice to win their fifth straight SoCon title. The game is set to televise on SportSouth (DirectTV 649, Dish Network 437, Comcast Chattanooga 53, EPB FiTV 33) and is one of the most anticipated showdowns in Mocs football history.
With such a big conference game as the season opener, there is a tremendous amount of excitement surrounding Chattanooga Football heading into the season. UTC put six players on the preseason All-SoCon squad while returning 18 starters from last year's 6-5 team.
That excitement has put the Mocs well ahead of last year's sales pace when UTC set a school record with 2,527 season tickets sold. This is just the fourth time since the Mocs moved to Finley Stadium in 1997 that they have reached the 2,000 mark for season ticket sales.
The Mocs will host the 2010 Women's Football Clinic on Friday, July 30 at Finley Stadium. The registration and social hour starts at 6:00 p.m. with the clinic beginning at 7:00 p.m. For more information on the 2010 Women's Football Clinic, please contact Mocs Athletics Coordinator of Marketing and Promotions Erika Lerum - (423) email@example.com - or click here.
All proceeds from the 2010 Women's Football Clinic will go to support the Huesman's Huddle program. Entering its second year, Huesman's Huddle is a very popular allotment of tickets donated by Mocs fans, alumni and supporters that are used to provide free admission to home football games to underprivileged fans.
