The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team travels to Salem, Va., to open the 2010-11 regular season this weekend. Chattanooga will face No. 14 Kent State on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 1:00 p.m. (E.D.T.). UTC will then compete in the Hokie Open tournament on Sunday.

The Golden Flashes come into the match ranked No. 14 in the nation. Chattanooga is looking to avenge a 22-15 loss to KSU in last season's opener.

Look for one of the marquee matchups right out of the gate in the 125-pound class. Sophomore Prescott Garner (West Linn, Ore.) will be making his debut for the Mocs after transferring from Calackamas (Ore.) CC. He was an NCAA qualifier during his freshman season at Navy. He is taking on junior Nic Bedelyon who is currently ranked No. 4 in the nation. Bedelyon was an All-American in 2009 and redshirted last season due to a shoulder injury.

Chattanooga senior Cody Cleveland (Tullahoma, Tenn.) will hit the mat for the first time in a year. He is currently No. 7 in the nation at 141 and will take on sophomore Chase Skonieczny. Cleveland, a 2008 All-American, missed the 2009-10 season with a knee injury. He was granted a sixth-year of eligibility for the 2010-11 campaign. Cleveland actually wrestled against Skonieczny in last year's dual before injuring his knee. Cleveland scored a fall at 5:40 of that match.

Junior Jason McCroskey (Soddy Daisy, Tenn.) will put his No. 19 national ranking at 184 up against either sophomore Casey Newburg or senior Chris Estep.

McCroskey dropped his individual match to No. 9 Dustin Kilgore at 184 last season. However, Kilgore has moved up to 197 where he is now ranked No. 3 in the nation. Kilgore, a junior, was an All-American last season with a 37-3 record. He will face either sophomore Niko Brown or Robert Prigmore.

One other rematch from last year's dual will take place at heavyweight. UTC senior Matt Lettner (Soddy Daisy, Tenn.) dropped a tight decision to Kent State's Brendon Barlow 3-1. Barlow went on to qualify for the NCAA Championships and is ranked 14th in the nation coming into the season.
