Chadwell is currently in her senior year at Centennial High School and was the Tennessee State High School 3A Singles Champion last season. She has an impressive prep and junior resume that includes a Girls' 18-and-Under Tennessee State Qualifying Singles and Doubles Championship in 2010.
A four-star recruit on Tennisrecruiting.net, Chadwell is the No. 2 rated prospect in Tennessee and No. 33 in the South in 18-and-Under according to the most recent USTA rankings. She is also in the top 15% of her class academically. Her older brother, Ian, is a sophomore on men's tennis squad at Alabama.
"I am thrilled to have Kaylene Chadwell join the Lady Mocs tennis program," stated Clark. "She has been one of the top players in Tennessee for many years, and she will strengthen our singles and doubles lineup immediately. Additionally, she has excelled in the classroom and will continue the tradition of outstanding women's tennis student-athletes at UTC."
The Lady Mocs have concluded the fall portion of their 2010-11 schedule. They will return to the courts in the spring for a full slate of dual matches.
