Barroetavena began March with three straight-sets victories at No. 4, including SoCon wins over Elon and UNCG. After defeating Georgia Southern's Albert Codina Sala 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 to clinch the match, he returned to the fourth spot to down Furman's Jacob Behal, 7-5, 6-2.
A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Barroetavena concluded March with four wins at No. 2, including SoCon victories against The Citadel, College of Charleston, and Wofford. In all, he dropped only one set nine singles matches. In doubles play, Barroetavena was 6-3 overall and 4-3 in league matches.
This is the second SoCon Player of the Month award for the Mocs. Junior Jackson Tresnan was the league's February Player of the Month. Chattanooga is currently 13-6 overall and 4-4 in SoCon play. The 13 wins are the most for the program since 2007.
Chattanooga has one match on the schedule next week, a trip to Boone, N.C., to face Appalachian State. Match time against the Mountaineers is set for Noon (E.D.T.) on Saturday, April 7. UTC's final home match is set for Friday, April 13, against Samford on the UTC Tennis Courts.
