Huesman Named SoCon Offensive Player of the Month
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga freshman quarterback Jacob Huesman was named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Month the league office announced today.  He was 49-for-77 (64%) for 570 yards and three passing touchdowns in November, helping the Mocs to a 2-1 record.

A native of Chattanooga, Tenn., Huesman also ran for 307 yards and three more scores while totaling 100+ yards rushing and passing in two of the three contests.  He is the first Moc to be named SoCon Offensive Player of the Month since running back Eldra Buckley in September 2006.  It is just the third time a UTC offensive player has earned the honor (Alonzo Nix, Oct. 2003) since the league started the award in 2003.

Huesman threw for 229 yards in an overtime loss to Wofford and a season-high 234 in a win over Elon, earning SoCon Freshman of the Week honors after each performance.  He was also the league's offensive player of the week after the Elon win.  He finished the month with a 133.48 passer rating and a team-high 314 all-purpose yards.

Huesman capped his rookie campaign with 1,712 passing yards, 13 passing touchdowns and seven rushing touchdowns, all setting or matching UTC freshman records. He also led Chattanooga with 904 rushing yards on the season, becoming the first QB to lead the team in rushing in school history.
