Blunt comes to UTC from Southeast Missouri State where she was the Redhawk's Compliance Assistant. A former SEMO women's basketball letterwinner, she began her work in Southeast Missouri's Compliance Office in 2009.
"We are excited to welcome Rachel to Chattanooga," stated Herron. "As a former student-athlete, she has first-hand knowledge of how important a strong support staff is to an athletics department. Her previous experiences will definitely be an asset and we look forward to her leadership in compliance at UTC."
While at Southeast Missouri, Blunt's day-to-day responsibilities included ensuring the athletics department operated in compliance with NCAA, Ohio Valley Conference and University rules and regulations.
Blunt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Southeast Missouri in 2009. She played basketball for the Redhawks during one of their most successful periods, participating in two NCAA Tournaments and a WNIT. She also set the school record for most games played. She earned a Master's of Business Administration in Finance from SEMO in 2011.
