LEGENDS WEEKEND
Legends Weekend is Feb. 8-9 as former Mocs and Lady Mocs return to the Roundhouse to be honored and to fellowship. There is a private reception on Friday the 8th with a public celebration slated for Saturday afternoon. The former Chattanooga stars will be honored during the doubleheader with the women facing Elon (5 p.m.) and the men taking on College of Charleston (7:30 p.m.).

MR. 1,000
"Voice of the Mocs" Jim Reynolds is coming up on his 1,000th Chattanooga basketball game. His first was November 29, 1980, an 82-53 win over Maryville. UTC won its first of 18 regular-season titles that season. A coincidence? We think not. The school has won more than 600 games since Reynolds took over as "Voice of the Mocs" in 1980. He's in his 33rd season and will be celebrated at the February 21st game vs. UNCG.

OPENING TIPS
- After opening the 2013 portion of the SoCon slate with six of eight on the road, Chattanooga is home for six of the next seven starting Thursday with The Citadel.

- It is the start of a hectic stretch. Starting Thursday, UTC plays five games in 10 days. The first four are at home concluding with a road game at Wofford a week from Saturday.

- Chattanooga's 72nd meeting with Citadel holding a 55-16 advantage (51-13 regular season, 1-0 tournament). The Mocs are 8-2 over the last 10 games. Check out page 3 for more series notes.

- UTC won the first meeting 70-65 at The Citadel on January 10. It railed the Bulldogs by as many as 10 in the second half before claiming the win. Notes and stats from the contest are on page 15.

- The Mocs lead the SoCon in rebounds per game (38.5) and offensive rebound percentage (.359), while ranking second in rebounding margin (+4.0).

- Chattanooga has out-boarded opponents by 10 or more seven times thus far with a high of 30 against Reinhardt. The plus-21 at Kennesaw State is the top margin against a DI opponent.

- UTC is 10th in the league in FT percentage (67.0%). In the first 36 minutes, it shoots 62.4 percent (262-420). In the final four minutes of the game is when it excels shooting 83.3 percent (100-120). Z. Mason paces the squad at 90.3 percent (28-31) with Ronrico White right behind at 90.2 percent (37-41).

- A Moc has posted a double-double in four of the last five games. Last Saturday it was Drazen Zlovaric with 10 and 10 at Georgia Southern. Mason has the other three.

- Mason has topped double digits in five straight and 10 of the last 11. Gee McGhee has 10 or more in four consecutive contests. McGhee matched his career high of 19 points twice (WCU/GSU) averaging 16.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 rebounds per game during that span.

- Mason is averaging 16.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game over the last 14 shooting 49.4 percent (80-162) from the field, 34.3 percent (12-35) from three-point range and 75.3 percent (55-73) from the free throw line.

- Mason is posting 15.8 points and 8.0 boards per SoCon contest.

- McGhee has played 23 or more minutes in every game with a high of 37 (App State). He is the only squad member to do so averaging a team-best 29.4 minutes per contest. Mason is second at 27.0.

- McGhee averages 10.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a team-high 1.5 steals per contest. He tallies 12.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.9 steals per SoCon game.

- White has been among the league leaders in FT% and attempts all year. Over his last 14, he's made 85.0 percent (51-60).

- Zlovaric is averaging 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in his career against The Citadel (2 meetings). He has hit 10 of 12 shots (83.3%) and five of six (83.3%) free throws.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
- The Citadel is 6-15 overall, 3-8 in the SoCon South. It is 2-8 on the road, 2-3 vs. SoCon competition with wins at Georgia Southern and Furman.
- Chuck Driesell is 22-61 in his third year, 1-2 vs. UTC.
- 3-2 in their last five games winning the last two.
- Mike Groselle paces the Bulldogs at 15.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest. Groselle leads the league in FG& (58.1). Matt Van Scyoc adds 11.7 and 3.4 boards per contest. Marshall Harris III is atop the SoCon in assists (5.0/game) and A/TO Ratio (2.2).
- The Citadel is shooting 44.9 percent from the field, 35. 2 percent from three-point range and 70.9 percent from the free throw line. The Bulldogs leads the conference in assists (14.8/game) and field goal percentage (44.9%).

MURRAY ARNOLD
The Chattanooga Mocs lost a legend on Nov. 14, 2012 as former Head Coach Murray Arnold passed away in Florida. He laid the DI championship foundation coaching for six years, 1980-85, with a 135-46 record. He coached collegiately at four institutions (Birmingham Southern, Western Kentucky and Stetson) amassing a 420-229 mark in 22 seasons. The Mocs captured four SoCon Championships in six UTC campaigns advancing to three NCAA Tournaments and two NITs reaching the Elite 8 (NIT) in 1985 and narrowly missing the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1982.
