CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team placed four members on the WGCA All-American Scholar team. Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.), Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark), Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) and Emily McLennan (Queensland, Australia) made the squad in 2013.
The quartet marks 11 WGCA All-American Scholars over the past four years. It’s the second time (2011) that the Mocs posted four student-athletes on the team.
Britt (2011, 2013) and Kryger (2012, 2013) are two-time honorees while Loza and McLennan are on their first as freshmen. Former UTC standout Maria Juliana Loza (2009-12) is the only three-time All-American Scholar for the program.
The honor is not an easy one to attain. It requires a 3.50 GPA along with a playing component. It is the third consecutive year the Mocs had multiple awardees.
It was a successful year on and off the course for the Mocs. The team captured its fourth straight Southern Conference Championship behind Agathe Sauzon (Valence, France) who became the third straight Chattanooga golfer to capture medalist honors in the event.
Head Coach Colette Murray was honored as SoCon Coach of the Year for the third time in four years. She led her charges to the sixth NCAA Regional appearance, once for each season since the program was re-instated beginning with the 2007-08 campaign.
