Dennis finished his senior season with a perfect 39-0 record in the 140-pound weight class, winning the Class A individual state title in Florida. He was also named the Pinellas County Wrestler of the Year.
Dennis has a 3.85 grade-point-average and is a member of National Honor Society. He was also chaplain and captain of his Northside Christian School wrestling team. His coaches include Chris Wilmington, Glenn Goodman and Dave Butler.
“We are excited to add a wrestler of Dillon’s caliber,” stated Bono. “He has a great work ethic, both in the classroom and on the mat, and will be a great addition to our program.”
The Mocs posted a 21-10 record in 2009, including a perfect 5-0 mark in Southern Conference action. UTC won its fifth consecutive SoCon title and had six individuals win SoCon championships. Senior Seth Garvin, the 165-pound conference champ, is the only loss among the starters for next season.
