Fans are encouraged to wear white for the 3:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) showdown against the third-ranked Mountaineers. The Mocs will also be giving away thousands of WHITEOUT T-shirts, thunderstix, pom-poms and other promotional items leading up to the game.
Fans wanting to get their hands on the WHITEOUT T-Shirts early can do so by ordering group tickets to the game. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets and T-Shirts for $8 per person by contacting Erika Lerum at (423) 425-2257 (erika-lerum@utc.edu).
Business owners who promote the game by participating in the Marquee Mania will also receive FREE WHITEOUT T-shirt with their tickets.
State Farm, the official game sponsor, is handing out 1,000 FREE white Mocs T-shirts and the Tennessee Division of Forestry will be giving out 1,000 FREE white Mocs seat cushions in the First Tennessee Pavilion prior to the game.
Be on the lookout in the downtown area for the Blue & Gold Train. Scrappy and the Mocs will be all over Chattanooga handing out WHITEOUT items from now until kickoff on Sept. 4. Also, make plans for the downtown pep rally at Miller Plaza at Noon on Friday, Sept. 3.
The WHITEOUT promotion was put in place to enhance the game atmosphere at Finley Stadium, but it will also help with the impact on the television audience. The game is set broadcast on SportSouth, which is available nationally on DirectTV (649) and Dish Network (437), and locally on Comcast (53). A crowd dressed in all white will have a dramatic impact on college football television viewers across the country.
Get your tickets, wear your WHITE and come to Finley Stadium to cheer on the Mocs as they continue to 'Restore the Glory' in 2010.
