Chattanooga is 5-0 on the year and off to its best start since 1991.  The Lady Mocs are on a school-record run of four consecutive shutouts and have only dropped one point this season.  UTC scored a 6-1 in last year's meeting in Martin, Tenn., on March 3.

UTM is 0-1 on the year after a season-opening 7-0 loss at Memphis on Jan. 16.  UT-Martin is coming off back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championships and is picked second in the OVC preseason poll.  Junior Ivon Simic was named the league's No. 2 player heading into spring action.

UTC head coach Jeff Clark scored his 100th win last week against Austin Peay.  He is in the sixth year of his second stint as head coach of the Lady Mocs.  He guided the team to a 43-27 record in his first term at Chattanooga from 1999-01.  He now has a nine-year career record of 100-84.

UTC is led by senior Jenna Nurik (Roswell, Ga.) who is the reigning Southern Conference Player of the Week and off to a 5-0 start in singles action.  Sophomore Claire Mulyadi (Semarang, Indonesia) and freshmen Kayla Jones (Memphis, Tenn.) and Kelsey Coots (Huntsville, Ala.) are also 5-0 in singles.  Junior Alexa Flynn (Memphis, Tenn.) is undefeated in three matches while sophomore Kaylene Chadwell (Franklin, Tenn.) has a 4-1 record.
