CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is sponsoring a canned food drive to benefit the Chattanooga Food Bank.  The public is invited to participate in the all-day event at the McKenzie Arena on Monday, Nov. 17.

Food barrels will be posted inside gates one, two and three to allow fans, students, faculty, staff and alumni the opportunity to bring non-perishable food items for those less fortunate.  The promotion will continue throughout the day and through the Lady Mocs basketball season opener with in-state rival East Tennessee State at 7 p.m.

“We are just trying to help others in need,” said Zach Ferrell, a senior guard on the men’s basketball team and co-President of SAAC. “There is a need for food at the Chattanooga Food Bank during Thanksgiving and we are trying to do our part and help others that are less fortunate during the upcoming holiday season.”
