CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's soccer team was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Academic Award list.

The 2009-10 Lady Mocs were one of 630 teams, 194 men and 436 women, to post a GPA above the required 3.0 for the award. Chattanooga posted an overall team GPA of 3.19 and was one of just four Southern Conference schools to receive the award.

"This is a great honor for our team to be recognized in this way," Lady Mocs Head Coach J.D. Kyzer said. "These young women work hard both on and off the field and it is a privilege to be honored for that effort."

Other Southern Conference women's teams receiving the award are Davidson College, Elon University and UNC Greensboro.
