Mocs Close Out 2013 at Stanford & Reno TOC

The Chattanooga Mocs continue a busy week with a dual match at No. 15 Stanford on Friday, Dec. 20.  This is the third dual for UTC in six days and the second ranked foe in less than a week.

Match time against the Cardinal is set for 9:30 p.m. (E.S.T.) in the Burnham Pavilion in Palo Alto, Calif.  Links for live scoring and a free web stream are on the wrestling schedule page on GoMocs.com.

Following the Stanford match, Chattanooga travels to the Reno Tournament of Champions in Reno, Nev., on Dec. 22.  Participants from 23 teams are in the collegiate field.

UTC is 5-4 overall after splitting matches with No. 21 Purdue and Gardner-Webb earlier in the week.  UTC dropped its match with the Boilermakers 21-15 at Mountain View High School in Atlanta, Ga.  The score was tied at 15 going into the final match.

The Mocs quickly bounced back with a dominating 35-3 win over Garnder-Webb on Monday in Maclellan Gym.  UTC won nine matches in front of the Candlelight Dinner crowd to open Southern Conference action.

Stanford is 8-2 overall with three victories over ranked teams.  The Cardinal defeated No. 15 Maryland (17-16), No. 17 Michigan (21-13) and No. 25 Central Michigan (18-13) earlier in the year.  Its two losses were to Eastern Michigan (18-16) and No. 9 Nebraska (28-12).
